Parks Chesin & Walbert has teamed up with the lawyers from Radford & Keebaugh to help Atlanta’s disabled community resolve a long-simmering problem of the City’s dilapidated sidewalk infrastructure. A class action lawsuit filed on May 24, 2018 seeks to enforce Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act to bring needed improvements.
Most citizens take for granted the ability to navigate the City’s sidewalks, never noticing the barriers to those using wheelchairs and scooters to get around. Broken sidewalks, permanent barriers, and missing or non-ADA compliant access ramps all work to impede the free and safe movement of Atlanta’s disabled population. Even in the shadow of the 1.5 Billion dollar Mercedes Benz stadium, sidewalks are crumbled and impassable.
We are committed to working with the City to bring attention to the condition of this aspect of our transportation infrastructure.
